Our 21st Annual Conference was held in Miami this past April.  It was such a great conference; wonderful educational tracks including “Join the Energy Conservation Crusade: Lessons Learned from Implementing Laudato Si,” “Disaster Preparedness – Being Ready for Whatever Happens,” “Tackling Difficult Property Decisions – Sell, Hold, or Buy…” as well as “Fleet Vehicle Management for Religious Institutes.”  Our conference opened with a very inspirational speaker, James Towey, President of Ave Maria University.  Mr. Towey is by trade a lawyer.  His career has seen him working alongside Mother Teresa, now Saint Teresa, Calcutta, as well as the 43rd president of the United States, George W. Bush.  On our last night we had a dinner cruise in the Biscayne Bay and the weather couldn’t have been more beautiful.  Many of our members took advantage of the last morning’s tour of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and St. Brendan High School Innovation Center.  This was the first time that the tour offered AIA credits in addition to some beautiful sight seeing.  Click here for a wonderful article that was written by Priscilla Greear and published in the Miami Florida Catholic publication.
