The Diocese of Orlando Chancery Office is seeking a Facilities Manager that will be responsible for prioritizing and managing the Diocesan-wide risk management activities for capital projects, recommending long-term deferred maintenance and energy efficiency programs, overseeing and supervising all aspects of maintenance for the Chancery Office and affiliated entities as needed, and ensuring high quality and cost-effective delivery of facility and administrative services. The successful candidate for this exclusive opportunity will also be responsible for directing and overseeing major projects for remodeling and improving the physical plant and grounds.

Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate will be committed to excellence and high standards, will be able to manage multiple priorities and workflows, and possess strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, dealing effectively with a diversity of individuals at all levels of the organization. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management or project management, as well as five to eight years related experience or equivalent. A demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines along with good judgment and the ability to make timely and sound decisions are key.

Requires knowledge of heating, ventilating, air-conditioning systems, refrigeration, electrical, lighting, plumbing, carpentry, painting and other generally-understood maintenance skills. Knowledge of city and state building codes, OSHA requirements, and ADA laws required, as well as the ability to read, interpret and understand construction drawings and specifications. Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates, Microsoft Outlook and Word is necessary. Other facilities management credentials and/or training, boiler certification a plus.

The candidate should be able to perform some physical labor, if necessary, lifting up to 75 pounds, climbing a ladder to a height of 35 feet and using scaffolds; able to bend, stoop, squat, lean, reach and stand for long periods of time.
