St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Chicago was near total collapse in 2008. Today, it stands proud; beautifully restored.

This is a project that took not just dollars but also the blood, sweat, and tears of the parishioners. There are rules about how much labor and what kind of labor parishioners can do, but many parishioners pitched in to do what they could to save the 1890’s german-built building. Even the pastor, who is a trained stone-carver, added his own touches that are sure to be lasting treasures for future generations of parishioners.
